A WORKING FARM

As a working cattle farm, Black Angus cows, and their two guardian donkeys, may greet you in the pastures during your stay.

Take no surprise if you see our young, friendly farm manager, Dylan Jarrell, tending to the cattle while you’re here. He’s a kind, approachable presence around the farm, so feel free to say hello if you see him!

HISTORY OF THE BEEF

Wallace Gap beef has a history dating back to the 18th century, when it was part of a 5,000-acre land grant from England to the Wallace family in 1735. The Lovelace family were fortunate to acquire the farm property in 2003, and since then, expanded by acquiring The Manor House and BDR Farm to accommodate the growing herd.

The farmhouse itself required meticulous renovation.

RENOVATIONS

The 1896 home gained an attached kitchen in 1926. Then, when the Lovelaces purchased the property in 2018, Patriarch Scott Lovelace spent nearly five years renovating the Manor House, carefully saving historically significant architecture wherever possible, preserving the farmhouse’s integrity.

With a reinforced foundation, new HVAC, thermal windows, and a stunning stone patio, the Manor House is ready for you.
